Shannon and Chex I have been training professionally since 1992.
As a youth I competed in Paint and Pinto shows in New York state. My last year of 14-18, I led the nation in Western Showmanship for Pintos and was near the top in many of the other events that I showed in as well. As a professional, I have competed and earned breed show points in most of the show events, Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Trail, Reining and Working Cowhorse. I have shown and coached riders at the World Show in the Paint, Pinto and Palominos as high as Reserve World Champions and many top 10 finishes. I currently hold judges cards in the Palomino and Pinto breeds. I am married and have 2 boys, Michael who is 5 years old and Colton who is 2 and a stepdaughter Dallas who is 14.
As of January 2010, my training business will be moved to a new farm at 155 Quarry Rd. Leola, PA. It is about 2 miles from where I currently lease and work from--Greystone Manor Stables. The Lancaster County Therapeutic Riding program will be taking over the lease of Greystone and in their vision of growth for their program, they can not have a for profit business there with them anymore. The new farm I will be working out of has a 150'x300' outdoor arena with new sand footing and a great base made for Reining horses. There is a lot of turnout, both individual paddocks as well as by summer 2010, larger pastures for 2 to 3 horses turned out together. There is a small indoor arena that will be great for starting horses under saddle in a quiet, non-threatening area, as well perfecting the spins of my Reining horses and their rollbacks and backing. There is a newly renovated heated lounge with a bathroom, refridgerator, microwave and DVD player to review a recent Reining run or replay and discuss a lesson.

The farm is nestled among several working Amish farms, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is convientley located near great outlet shopping, many chain restaurants as well as local fare, and nice hotels and lodging all within a 15 minute drive thru scenic Amish country. I an getting very excited about this unexpected change for my business. I will have a much smaller number of horses to manage and will be able to concentrate more time into my training, showing and lesson programs. They will be more competitive than ever!
